The Faculty provides academic educational programmes and professionally oriented educational programmes in the fields of Civil Engineering and Traffic Engineering, and an interdisciplinary program of Industrial Engineering within Civil Engineering, which is carried out in cooperation with the Faculty of Business and Economics.

The Faculty conducts international, national and regional scientific and R & D projects. Besides this, the staff carry out studies and provide expert opinions for different institutions, enterprises and other clients.
Research and development projects are mainly performed by Chairs of the Faculty in their research centres and laboratories. These are united in the Institute for Civil Engineering and Traffic Engineering. Part-time studies are provided by the Centre for Further Professional Education and Training.
The Faculty staff strive to improve their programs and to apply the principles of honesty, openness and international comparability.

Study programmes

The Faculty of Civil Engineering offers under-graduate and post-graduate study programmes. There are three study programmes to obtain a university (or academic) degree:

• Civil Engineering
• Traffic Engineering
• Industrial Engineering within Civil Engineering 

Academic study programmes last 8 terms plus an additional year in which a student fulfils his/her study requirements and writes a degree dissertation. The courses are devised so as to provide the student with academic knowledge as well as the knowledge of the methodology of scientific and research work.
