Pivovarna Union, a most modern European brewery with a 140-year tradition, is located in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. Employing state-of-the-art technology, Union boasts rich experience in brewing, as well as beer that is known and appreciated far and wide, by both Slovene consumers as well as enthusiasts beyond the nation’s borders.
Union’s main product has always been - and indeed still remains - its beer (Union lager, Union Pils, Union 1864, Union Črni Baron, Union Radler shandy, Union Smile, Union Tivoli, as well as the non-alcoholic Uni). In addition to beer, the company also produces Sola, a range of refreshing non-alcoholic beverages, near watter ZA (Za life, Za lemon, Za harmony), as well as Zala spring water. Plans for the future encompass fully meeting market trends and requisites, further improvement of the existing product ranges, as well as the development and introduction of the new ones.
The Union Brewery produces beer, refreshing non-alcoholic drinks and natural spring water, and thus meets the needs of consumers most of which are in Slovenia, and to a lesser extent also abroad. In fulfilling a market need and generating a profit through the sale of its products, the brewery continues to satisfy the needs of its employees and shareholders, as well as its customers and the broader social milieu.
In attaining its vision, the Union Brewery intends to continue in its mandated mission to meet the needs and requirements of its customers. In ensuring continued consumer satisfaction, the company shall improve management based on the ISO quality requisites, environmental standards as well as the modern technology that it has at its disposal. The development of new products and the improvement of the existing ones shall be focused on the individual strategic business programmes: beer, non-alcoholic drinks and natural spring water.
The objectives of Union Brewery’s future development shall be predicated on technology, knowledge and expertise, tradition as well as the quality product range of the company. Our primary goal is the production and sale of quality beer, non-alcoholic beverages and natural spring water. In meeting this objective, it is of utmost importance to generate sufficient profit in order to achieve the requisite levels of reinvestment that will enhance the company's future development as well as provide dividends sufficient enough to meet the expectations of shareholders, and thus their continued interest and participation.
The Union Brewery employs nearly 500 people, and their education, skills and aptitudes have evolved in conjunction with the diversification of production and the introduction of new technologies. More than fifty percent of workers have college-equivalent qualifications, while one employee in eight has a university degree.
