On April 12th and 13th, 2010 the Kick-off Meeting for the Interreg IVC-project „SHARP - Sustainable Hydro Assessment and Groundwater Recharge Projects“ took place in Graz. Under the guidance of the Lead partner WATERPOOL the project partners of SHARP met in Graz for doing the first work on the Interreg IVC project SHARP.
One main point of the meeting event was the visit of the water supply facilities of the Graz AG. Graz AG has a long experience in providing potable water by using the technology of groundwater recharge. The projects partners from all over the European region were able to gain know-how on in Graz used recharge techniques and also to get know of taken investigations for optimizing the use of groundwater recharge for different purposes. By combining the existing know-how off all partners an optimization for the assessment of the water resources should be reached in each participating region.
On April 13th, 2010 also a press conference in the premises of Graz AG was held in which all participating persons pointed out the importance of groundwater recharge technologies for providing a sustainable water resources management.
