The Waterpool Competence Network concentrates on six key research areas. These key areas are classified by theme in the network hubs. These network hubs are what bring economy and research closer together.

Each of the six hubs yields modules dedicated to addressing specific tasks. In accordance with Waterpool’s networking philosophy, research is performed in decentralised work packages (WPs) whose active cells work to produce concrete results. WPs are project-oriented, on-demand units that conduct their research and development tasks to address those demands.
