Water in underground mining and power plant construction For the construction of underground galleries, the structure of rock formations and their hydrogeological properties are spatially assessed, in order to be able to prove a better description of water movement. The models derived from this serve to establish the preventive measures which ensure efficient water protection in the sense of a sustained use of the land which will help preserve and protect the groundwater, in relation to the construction of transport routes, mining, bodies of water in the mountains, and Alpine water storage management.
