If you wish to achieve operational sustainability, you need to understand systemic relationships. For this reason, the main focus of our work is on quality assurance, water resource quality and its sustainability over the long term.
The goal is to be able to predict the effects on water resources of interventions in complex environmental systems. The survey and analysis of multi-causal relationships, the evaluation of data and its utilisation in order to benefit both business and research partners — these together form the foundation of our mutual efforts.
“Waterpool – Kompetenznetzwerk Wasserressourcen GmbH” was established in December 2003 as a subsidiary of “Joanneum Research Forschungsgesellschaft mbH,” and very rapidly grew to become central Europe’s largest competence centre. Currently, over 80 commercial and research partners are part of the network. Know-how is provided by partners from the Austrian provinces of Styria, Carinthia, Tyrol, as well as further afield, from such countries as Slovenia, Italy and Croatia, all of whom enjoy the benefits of this close cooperation. The Waterpool network is made up of six central network hubs, with 45 sub-projects. An overview of these network hubs can be found here.
